It’s a brother/sister garage duo, but it’s not the White Stripes. It’s White Mystery, and they’re way cooler because they have red hair. Also: their new self-titled CD sounds like it was recorded in Charles Manson’s brain while he rode a truly legendary acid trip.

It’s not too often you get surprised once in a night by a solid opening band, but this weeks lineup at the Beat Kitchen surprised me three times, with three rock solid openers. This marks the first time that’s happened since Family Values 2000.
