New Coheed & Cambria Song Sure To Explode Yr Boner!
I
t’s been a few years since New Jersey progbots Coheed & Cambria released their last disc, No World For Tomorrow, and there was tons of speculation that they were finished as a band after completing the epic story that stretched across their first four discs (a story which I never, for a minute, understood, at all). This bummed me out, as I love C&C so much that I got their logo tattooed on my arm. (Yes, I was very, very drunk.) But, hey, they’re back! And their new track, “The Broken,” is absolutely righteous. It sounds more like the stuff on their first two records than the increasingly glossy material that populates the back half of their catalog, which is good news for people that like intricate future-rock with churning guitars and high-pitched vocals. I can’t imagine hearing this on the radio; if they play “The Broken” on Q101 I’m pretty sure Corey Taylor‘s head would explode and a blood-drenched unicorn would fly out. But anyways, the new Coheed record is called Year Of The Black Rainbow, and I bet it’s gonna be fantastic. Check their homepage now to hear “The Broken.”
